This project is a technical 3D asset production study focused on translating the iconic Hextech Gauntlet from Riot Games' Arcane into a production-ready 3D mesh. The objective of this exercise was to reverse-engineer a highly complex, stylized 2D entertainment design and execute it with rigorous hard-surface modeling principles, optimized edge flow, and precise mechanical articulation.
Original concept design by Riot Games / Fortiche Production.
Key Objectives & Production Pipelines Featured:
Stylized 3D Asset Translation: Deconstructed the complex shape language, exaggerated proportions, and hand-painted aesthetic of the original IP, successfully maintaining the distinct visual weight and silhouette integrity in a three-dimensional space.
Advanced Topology & Edge Flow: Executed a clean mid/low-poly polygon layout with strict pipeline distribution. Focused heavily on proper joint placement and edge routing around the mechanical knuckles and pistons to guarantee seamless deformations during character animation rigging.
Hard-Surface Precision: Applied advanced hard-surface modeling discipline to manage complex surface intersections, bevel consistency, and mechanical component interlocking without relying on excessive geometry density.
